Oil and gold prices fell yesterday, nearing key psychological levels, in a difficult day for commodity markets. US oil prices threatened to sink below the $100 level for the first time in more than five months. Nymex October West Texas Inter-mediate touched a low of $100.10 before trading $1.71 lower at $100.87 a barrel. ICE October Brent stayed below $100, dropping $1.33 to $97.64 a barrel.
